Angel Returns to GMA-7

It was so amusing seeing Angel Locsin on the tv screen with GMA-7 logo seen at the right top corner. It was the time when the actresss accapted the trophy for Best Actress given by the FAMAS committee. The awards night was held one week prior the telecast on the said TV network.

And why was it amusing? GMA TV Network was once Angel's home network for half a decade. Then Angel move to ABS-CBN and everything went sour and bitter for the network executives.

The Entertainment Press Society Snubs Locsin's Performance in One More Try

The Entertainment Press Society, or ENPRESS snubbed Angel Locsin's performance in the movie One More Try which won the actress two Best Actress Awards. One from Metro Manila Film Festival Awards and another from the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards.

The award body which is breakaway group from PMPC 10 years ago is known to be partial to GMA Network, Locsin's former home network.

Locsin and Trillo, Best Actors of Today's Generation

The Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation (GMMSF) has announced Angel Locsin as Film Actress of the Year while Dennis Trillo was named one of the Dekada Awardees by the Entertainment Press Society (Enpress).

Both announcements were made at very distant date.

In Focus: Kristofer Martin

Whoah! I've been a silent follower of Kristofer Martin for quite some time now. I thought his career started with GMA Network. But lo and behold, his career started with ABS-CBN pala. Let me repost this entry from Wikipedia...

Kristofer started his career (via screen name 'Kristofer Dangculos') on television when he joined a search for young singers. He also appeared as TV guest in ABS-CBN programs, like in Boy & Kris, ASAP '08, Wowowee, etc. He made several mall shows around Metro Manila and provinces when he joined Little Big Superstar together with his co-stars in Kung Fu Kids.

Kristofer Martin's career started when he joined Little Big Superstar, a search reality-variety show for kids with good singing ability. In this contest he was called "Prince Charming" because of his good-looks. He became one of the ten finalist but he was eliminated in the second week of the finals.

Prinsesa ng Banyera, a noon-time drama after Wowowee, he played the role of the young Eric Fragante, who became TJ Trinidad when he grew up. He was paired with Jane Oineza, also his co-star in Kung Fu Kids, who played the role of the young Maningning Burgos (who later became Kristine Hermosa).

Philippine Entertainment Portal or Pep.ph Launches the PEP List

Ginanap kahapon, Marso 14, ang pagdiriwang ng ika-anim na anibersaryo ng Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) sa Aracama restaurant sa The Fort, Taguig City. Dinaluhan ito ng mga artista at miyembro ng media.

Sa kanyang speech, nagbalik-tanaw ang editor-in-chief ng PEP na si Jo-Ann Maglipon sa pagsisimula ng website na ito. Saad ni Jo-Ann, "Kung titingnan ninyo ngayon ang PEP, aakalain ninyo, lahat napakadali.

"Page views mataas, unique users di naman bumababa, maraming stars at sources ang nagtitiwala na, tuluy-tuloy lang ang daloy ng mga balita. Pero, mali. Hindi madali. Masaya, exciting pa nga, high alert parati, buhay na buhay ka—pero walang dudang iginapang, trinabaho, pinaghirapan.



"Hindi madali."

Ikinuwento rin ni Jo-Ann ang ilan sa mga hindi malilimutang karanasan ng staff sa loob ng anim na taon— mula sa pagbuo ng istorya hanggang sa pagkakasangkot mismo ng staff sa ilang kontrobersiya na humantong pa sa korte.

Pero dahil na rin sa pagtutulungan ng bawat staff— sa pag-iimbestiga, sa pagharap sa libel suits na natanggap ng buong team— mas lalong naging responsable ang PEP sa mga pagbabalita ng mga impormasyong nakakalap.
